A Sunroom as a Holiday Centerpiece
It’s official. The holidays are upon us in Atlanta, and while you may think your sunroom is only good for the summer months, think again. Sunrooms are great year–round, adding splashes of sun in the winter to help eradicate those winter blues. And in regards to holiday entertaining, sunrooms can also be the perfect focal point for parties.
If you’re big on decorating for the holidays, then this is the perfect time to spiff up your sunroom with some fun holiday decorating.
Christmas Trees in your Atlanta Sunroom
If you celebrate Christmas, then decorations can help put you into the holiday spirit.
Holiday wreaths mounted in your windows add a nice touch, and give off a festive feel. If you opt to not use wreaths made out of real branches, there are artificial ones that will work just fine…and prevent pine needles from getting all over the place.
Stringing cranberries and popcorn are holiday traditions, which will add nice touches to your windows and add color to your sunroom. If you have a house full of kids and want to add more color, making chains out of construction paper is a fun activity that will brighten up the place.
However, if you’re planning on getting a Christmas tree for your sunroom, there are some options. Of course you can get a traditional pine tree and decorate it, but once the holidays are over, you have to remove it and cart it off somewhere to decompose. If you’re not into the idea of actually cutting down and putting up a Christmas tree, a potted pine might be a nice alternative, one that you can decorate and keep for years. You’ll actually be saving the life of a tree and adding some oxygen to your sunroom…also the sun is great for all types of plants and trees, and quite honestly, nothing beats the smell of pine this time of year.
The Holiday Sunroom Dinner
Whatever you decide to eat for your holiday dinner, think of festive table settings when you’re entertaining in your sunroom. Be inventive and try different colors or if you’re the traditional type, then stick with the red and green for your table settings. Add fun things to the table, gifts like Christmas crackers and silly toys, which make great conversation pieces. If it’s warm during the holidays, open a window and get some fresh air, while enjoying a nice sunset with your guests.
And let’s not forget the bad holiday sweaters. But that’s another party unto itself…
